Six venues, one local search system for a restaurant group

A hospitality group running six restaurant venues across Sydney and Melbourne could not get found when diners searched suburb by suburb. We built a profile and a landing page for every venue, tied them together, and turned map searches into booked tables across the whole group.

The challenge

Scaling search across six venues

This client runs six restaurant venues, four across Sydney and two in Melbourne, spread over Italian and modern Australian menus. Each venue had built its own following locally, but as a group they were close to invisible in search the moment a diner typed a suburb name.

The core problem was structure. All six venues pointed to a single homepage with a shared phone number and one address block. Google had no clean way to tell the Surry Hills venue apart from the Carlton one, so none of them showed up reliably in the local pack for searches like italian restaurant Surry Hills or dinner booking Carlton. When a venue did appear on the map, the listing often carried an old trading name, the wrong opening hours, or a pin dropped a street away from the door.

The Google Business Profiles told the same story. Three venues shared overlapping descriptions, two had duplicate listings created years earlier by a former manager, and reviews were piling up unanswered on profiles nobody owned. The business name, address and phone details did not match between the website, the profiles and the third-party booking platforms, which left Google unsure which information to trust.

The owners wanted something specific. They wanted every venue to rank in its own suburb, they wanted bookings and calls to come in per location rather than funnel through one tired contact form, and they wanted a setup that could take a seventh and eighth venue without starting from scratch. The work had to scale, not just patch one listing at a time.

What Boltly did

The work, venue by venue

We treated each venue as its own local business while keeping the group consistent underneath. That meant a profile, a page and a set of signals per location, all sharing the same rules so the system held together as it grew.

A profile per venue

We claimed and verified a separate Google Business Profile for all six venues, merged the duplicate listings, set the correct category and cuisine, and moved every map pin onto the right front door.

Location landing pages

We built a dedicated page for each venue, written around its own suburb, menu and opening hours, so Google had a distinct page to rank for every location instead of one shared homepage.

Store locator and links

We added a venue finder and a clear internal linking pattern, so each location page connected to the group and to nearby venues, spreading authority across all six rather than one.

Schema per location

We marked up each page with Restaurant and LocalBusiness schema carrying that venue's address, hours, menu link and geo coordinates, so search engines read each one as a real, separate place.

Consistent NAP

We made the name, address and phone number match exactly across the website, the profiles, the directories and the booking platforms, clearing up the conflicting details that had been confusing Google.

Reviews per venue

We set up a simple way for each venue to invite reviews from real diners and reply to them, building separate, current review streams instead of a stale pile on the wrong listing.

On-page work

We rewrote titles, headings and menu descriptions around how diners actually search, pairing cuisine with suburb on every venue page so the right phrases appeared where they counted.

Technical health

We fixed the duplicate-content traps, sped up the booking pages on mobile and cleaned the site structure so search engines could crawl all six venue pages without confusion.

What changed across the group in twelve months

The figures below are illustrative of this engagement and show the kind of movement multi-location local SEO produces for a restaurant group that starts with tangled listings. The headline was not one venue jumping up, it was all six pulling their weight in their own suburbs.
