About Boltly: an SEO agency built to hold

Boltly is a Melbourne-based SEO agency, founded by Muhammad Majid Akram and in business for almost 15 years, working across Australia. We do the unglamorous parts of search properly so rankings hold: sites Google can read, pages that answer real questions and a complete, honest Google Business Profile. Prices are published and plans are month to month.

The other half: what holds it

The details behind those claims, in one place.

Why Boltly exists

Three loose bolts we kept seeing

The three problems we kept seeing were long contracts that kept people paying after the work stopped, reports nobody could read, and quick wins that vanished once the invoices did. Too many business owners came out of SEO contracts with little to show for them, and Boltly was set up to do the opposite.

Plans run month to month, so we have to earn each one. Reports skip the jargon and show the work done, what moved and what's next. The work follows Google's own guidance: a site it can crawl, content written for people and a profile that tells the truth about the business.

How we hold ourselves

Six settings we don't loosen

Every Boltly account runs at the same six settings from the first audit, the way a mechanic tightens each bolt to a set torque.

  1. Straight advice

We say what will move your results and what won't, including when SEO isn't the right spend yet.

  2. Month to month

No lock-in. You stay because the report shows progress.

  3. Whole topics covered

We plan a site around everything its customers ask, so pages support each other.

  4. Readable reports

Rankings, traffic and enquiries each month, in words a busy owner can follow.

  5. You own it all

Pages, content, accounts and data stay yours, even if you leave.

  6. Senior on every account

An experienced consultant leads your account from audit to report.

Who we are

A small, senior team, in-house

Boltly is a 10-person team, small on purpose. Each account is led by an experienced SEO consultant backed by specialists in content, technical SEO, web development and local search. The work is planned and overseen in-house, so no account manager relays messages between you and the person doing it.

With no large sales team or junior layer to pay for, we can keep prices published and plans month to month, and you can always ask the person who made a change why they made it. The team page introduces the people, and the SEO process page shows how a month of work is run.

We hold our own site to the same rule

We cut our own site back before asking you to trust us

In 2026 we reviewed every page on boltly.com.au against Google's spam policies and its guidance on helpful content. Pages that only swapped a suburb name, or repeated what another page already said, were removed and redirected to the page that covers the topic. The site went from 453 pages to 254.

The 254 that stayed are being rewritten one at a time: facts carry a named source and the date we checked them, prices match the pricing page, and nothing claims a result we can't show. The results we can show are on our case studies page. Google wants content "created primarily for people, and not to manipulate search engine rankings", and we hold our own site to that before a client's.

How an engagement runs

Five turns, then repeat

Every engagement follows the same order, because doing the right work in the wrong order wastes it. After the first pass, the last three steps repeat each month.

  1. AuditA free look at where you stand and what to fix first.
  2. PlanA written plan and price, agreed before any work.
  3. BuildTechnical fixes, pages and profile work, on schedule.
  4. ReportA plain report on rankings, traffic and enquiries.
  5. AdjustNext month planned on what the numbers showed.

About Boltly

About Boltly, answered

What is Boltly?

Boltly is an SEO agency based in Melbourne that helps Australian businesses get found in Google search, the map results and AI answers. Founded by Muhammad Majid Akram almost 15 years ago, it covers local, technical, content and eCommerce SEO.

Where is Boltly based?

In Melbourne, Victoria. The work is done online, so we work in every state and territory. Our locations page lists the cities we've written pages for.

What does an SEO agency do?

It helps a business show up when people search for what it sells. That means fixing the site so Google can read it, writing pages that answer customers' questions, building the Google Business Profile and reviews, and reporting on what changed.

What does an SEO specialist do?

An SEO specialist focuses on one part of that work, such as technical fixes, content or local search. At Boltly, specialists in each area work under the consultant who leads your account.

How do you choose an SEO agency?

Ask who does the work, whether prices are published, whether there's a lock-in, and how results are reported. Walk away from anyone promising a guaranteed first place, which Google says no one can do. Our guide to choosing an SEO agency has the full list.

Does Boltly lock clients into contracts?

No. Every plan is month to month, and you keep the pages, content, accounts and data if you leave.

If we leave, do we keep the website, the Google profile and the analytics?

Yes, and they should be in your name from the first day. Your business should be the primary owner of its Google Business Profile, Google Analytics property and Search Console property, with the agency added as a manager you can remove. The domain should be licensed to your business (check who holds a .au name at the auDA WHOIS service, whois.auda.org.au). Pages and content stay on your site when you go. Whoever you hire, get this in writing before you start, because getting accounts back after a falling-out is slow.

How will we know what was actually done each month?

The report lists the work as well as the rankings: which pages were changed or published, with links, what technical fixes went in and what's planned next. You can check for yourself too. Search Console shows clicks and the searches you appear for, Google Analytics shows visits from organic search, and new pages are there to open. A monthly template of ranking screenshots with nothing to click through to should make you ask what changed.

How long before we know whether it's working?

Watch the early signs first, then the enquiries. Google's SEO starter guide says some changes show within hours and others take several months. The first movement usually shows in Search Console: pages indexed, then more impressions, then better positions, and only then more clicks, calls and forms. New sites and crowded categories take longer. Agree a point to review the numbers together, such as six months in.

How much does Boltly cost?

Plans are $500, $900 or $1,500 a month depending on how much work your market needs. The pricing page shows what each includes.

Is Boltly connected to other businesses with a similar name?

No. Boltly at boltly.com.au is an SEO agency. Google sometimes suggests similarly named businesses when you search for us. They're separate companies with no connection to Boltly.

Three of these questions come from Google's autocomplete for SEO agencies, checked 3 October 2026; the rest are what people ask us about the business.
