Case study

A Sydney dental practice that doubled new-patient enquiries

A multi-chair dental practice in Sydney's inner suburbs came to us with a quiet website and a Google listing that rarely showed up when nearby residents searched for a dentist. Over roughly nine months of steady local SEO, on-page work and a simple reviews routine, the practice moved from page three obscurity to the top of the map for its core suburb terms, and new-patient enquiries climbed to about double where they started.

The challenge

A good practice that nobody could find

The practice had three chairs, a friendly team and plenty of capacity for new patients. What it did not have was visibility. When someone in the surrounding suburbs typed the name of their area alongside the word dentist, a string of competitors filled the screen and this practice sat well below the fold.

Most of its new bookings still came from word of mouth and a few long-standing patients, which made the diary unpredictable. The website was a single page that listed services in a flat block of text, with no separate pages for the treatments people actually search for. The Google Business Profile had been claimed years earlier and then left alone, so the categories were thin, the hours were out of date and only a handful of reviews sat under the name.

On the technical side the site loaded slowly on phones, which is where the bulk of dental searches happen. There were no clear calls to make a booking, and the few enquiries that did arrive often came through a contact form that buried the phone number. The owner knew the practice was losing work to nearby clinics that simply showed up first, and wanted a measured plan rather than big promises.

// Starting point

  • Page three for the main suburb search.
  • Stale profile with thin categories and few reviews.
  • One flat page with no treatment-level content.
  • Slow on mobile, where most searches start.
  • No clear booking path for new patients.
What we did

The work behind the result

We started with a full audit so we could see exactly where the practice was losing ground, then worked through five areas in order. Nothing here relied on tricks. It was the steady, visible work of making a real practice easy to find and easy to book.

The audit

We mapped how nearby residents phrase their searches, checked where the practice ranked for each one, and listed every gap in the site, the profile and the technical setup before any work began.

Local SEO and the profile

We rebuilt the Google Business Profile with correct categories, hours, services and photos, fixed the listing details across the directories Sydney patients use, and kept the profile lined up with the website.

On-page for service and suburb

We split the single page into clear pages for the main treatments and the suburbs the practice serves, each written in plain language so a patient and a search engine could both follow it easily.

Reviews strategy

We set up a gentle, compliant routine that invited happy patients to leave a genuine review after their visit, which lifted both the rating and the steady flow of fresh feedback under the listing.

Technical health

We cut the mobile load time, tidied the page structure, added clear booking buttons and a tap-to-call number, and made sure the site read correctly on the phones where most searches happen.

Monthly reporting

Each month the owner saw a short report on rankings, calls and enquiries, so the direction of travel was always clear and the next round of work was easy to agree on.

  • Regular presence in the local pack across nearby suburbs.
  • A steady stream of fresh reviews lifting the rating to about 4.8 stars.

Services used

What went into this project

This result came from a few of our core services working together rather than any single fix. If your practice is in a similar spot, these are the pieces we would draw on for you.

We led with Local SEO to rebuild the Google Business Profile and win the map pack, then used On-Page SEO to turn one flat page into clear treatment and suburb pages. Technical SEO fixed the mobile speed and booking path, and ongoing Content kept the new pages fresh and answered the questions patients ask before they book.
