SEO for Brighton businesses by the jetty
Brighton is a small beachside suburb with a big summer: a jetty, a swim that fills the water and a sculpture show on the sand. Its Jetty Road shops serve locals all year. Boltly helps Brighton businesses show up for both, month to month, with a report you can read.

Do Brighton businesses in Adelaide need SEO?
Yes, whenever customers look you up before they visit. Summer visitors search for food, parking and things to do near the jetty. Residents, many of them long-term home owners, search for trades, clinics and services close by. Both groups choose from the few businesses Google shows first.
Brighton is in the City of Holdfast Bay, postcode 5048, about 12 km south-west of the Adelaide city centre in a straight line (our measurement between the ABS centre points for Brighton and Adelaide). Seaford line trains stop at Brighton station and the council's civic centre is at 24 Jetty Road, so locals and visitors arrive by train, car and on foot from the Esplanade.
The work for a business here covers a fully filled-in Google Business Profile, one page per service you offer, a steady stream of honest reviews and a website that works well on a phone on the sand.

The February swim that fills the water off Brighton jetty
Brighton's jetty is the suburb's landmark, and its biggest day is the Jetty Classic, which its organisers call South Australia's largest open water swim.
An annual date
The Jetty Classic has been held on the first Sunday in February every year since 2006.
Entries in the swims
The organisers report a field of more than 1,000 entries across the 1,500 m and 400 m swims, plus kids' swims of 100 to 300 m.
Along the jetty
The main swim starts in the water on the north side of the jetty, follows it out and finishes on the beach on the south side.

Two events that bring summer crowds to Brighton
The Jetty Sculptures in January and the Jetty Classic in February bring the crowds. Visitors plan the day on their phones, so Jetty Road and Esplanade businesses with the right pages and hours catch those searches.

Council road works are planned for Jetty Road Brighton
The City of Holdfast Bay's "Jetty Road Brighton Road Improvements" project covers new crossings, raised intersections, speed cushions and footpath changes, and it removes some parking. If you trade on the strip, plan your parking advice now.

The council counts 44 of the current bays as below the Australian Standard, which is why some have to go. Its plan leaves the 85 indented bays on Torr Avenue and Commercial Road untouched, so send customers there when they ask where to park. When work starts, add a short parking section to your site and keep access notes current on your Google Business Profile.

A settled, home-owning beach suburb
Most Brighton homes are houses, more than four in ten are owned outright and the median resident is 49. Almost three in four residents were born in Australia.
The state median is 41, and adding up the ABS age bands puts 26.7% of Brighton residents at 65 or over. On Census day 5.7% of working residents took the train to work against 0.6% across South Australia, and 14.6% worked from home. Hospitals were the biggest single employer of locals (6.4%). So year-round searches lean towards health, home maintenance and owner-occupier services, and summer adds the cafe and things-to-do searches.

Brighton's neighbours along the coast
On the ABS boundaries Brighton borders Hove, Warradale, Dover Gardens and South Brighton, with Gulf St Vincent to the west.
Hove, Dover Gardens and South Brighton share the 5048 postcode, so write Brighton in full. Hove and Warradale stations are the next stops citywards, so name the station nearest your door. Each suburb you serve can have its own page. For the wider city, see SEO Adelaide and local SEO in Adelaide.

What Jetty Road and Esplanade owners ask before they start
How long does SEO take to work for a Brighton business?
Google's own starter guide says changes can show up within hours or take several months, and a busy summer strip like Jetty Road sits at the slower end. Profile fixes and fresh reviews usually register in the map first; organic rankings across Holdfast Bay build more slowly, and crowded trades take longer still.
How much does SEO cost for a small business in Brighton or Holdfast Bay?
Starter is $500 a month for one location, Growth $900 for Brighton plus nearby Holdfast Bay suburbs, and Performance $1,500 for busy categories or online shops. No setup fee, and you stay month to month.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings on Google?
No. Google's own guidance says nobody can promise first place in its results, and Google doesn't sell better map positions. We commit to the work, and the monthly report lists every change we made.
What results can I realistically expect?
For a Jetty Road shop or a Brighton trade, the first signs are usually more views and actions on your Google profile: calls, direction requests and website clicks. As pages start ranking, organic visits and enquiries follow. How much depends on your trade, your starting point and how active your competitors are.
Which services do I actually need: SEO, a Google Business Profile or ads?
Almost every local business should start with a complete Google Business Profile, because that is what appears in the map. SEO on your website builds on it over time. Ads can help during a short busy period, such as the summer events, but they stop working when you stop paying.
Do I need a local Adelaide SEO agency?
Not necessarily. What counts is knowing your market: Jetty Road, the summer visitors and the neighbouring suburbs. Boltly is a Melbourne-based business that has served clients online for almost 15 years, with no lock-in.
Can I rank in Hove, Glenelg and Seacliff as well as Brighton?
Often, yes, if you really do work in those areas. Your Google profile ranks mainly near your address, so for surrounding suburbs we build a page for each area you cover. Distance still matters, so the closer suburbs usually come first.
There's a Brighton in Melbourne too. How do we stop customers and Google mixing us up?
Write the state and postcode every time: Brighton SA 5048. Australia Post lists a Brighton in Victoria (3186), Queensland (4017) and Tasmania (7030) as well as South Australia. Use Brighton SA 5048 in your page titles, your Google Business Profile address, your schema and every directory listing, and check that old citations have not been filed under Victoria. On the page itself, mention things only this Brighton has: Jetty Road, the jetty and Brighton station on the Seaford line.
How do we keep trade up after summer, when the visitors go home?
Use the quiet months to win the locals. Visitors search before they arrive; residents search all year for a cafe they can walk to, a physio or a plumber. Give each group its own page, change your profile hours the week the season turns, and spend March to October asking regulars for reviews. A winter offer or weekday special posted on your profile gives people a reason to come back when Jetty Road is quiet.
I run a trade from home in Brighton. Does my address have to show on Google?
No, if customers don't come to you. Google's help on service areas says that if you don't serve customers at your business address, you should remove it from your Business Profile and list the areas you serve instead, up to 20 of them (Google Business Profile Help, checked 5 October 2026). Your profile will still show best near home, so the website does the reaching: a page for each suburb you cover, with jobs and photos from there. Never use a virtual office or a friend's address to look closer to Glenelg or Marion; that can get a profile suspended.
Questions come from Google's suggested searches and from the FAQs on pages ranking for SEO in Brighton and nearby Glenelg, checked 4 October 2026.
