SEO for Bondi businesses, between the flags
Bondi, Bondi Beach, North Bondi and Tamarama all share the postcode 2026, and Waverley Council says Bondi drew over 880,000 domestic overnight visitors in 2022. That name works for you and against you: tourists, locals and a Tokyo cafe all compete for the same word in Google. We make sure the right people find your business.

One word, four suburbs, two brands and a cafe in Tokyo
The beach people picture is Bondi Beach, which is its own suburb. The suburb called Bondi sits just west of it, about a kilometre between Australia Post locality points, and North Bondi and Tamarama are close by. All four share the postcode 2026. Bondi Junction, a separate suburb with postcode 2022, is the shopping and transport hub. Google mixes all of these with other things called Bondi.
Even our own search term goes astray: type "seo bondi" and Google suggests "sev boondi", a savoury snack. Use the suburb on your real street address in your Google profile, then add "Bondi Beach", "Sydney" or the street in page titles and descriptions so Google and customers know which Bondi you are. "Bondi Road" works as a search term on its own: Google suggests "bondi road doctors", "seafood", "medical centre" and "restaurants".

Young, renting, walking and working in creative jobs
Bondi and Bondi Beach look like twins in the census. In Bondi, 32.3% of residents were aged 25 to 34, against 14.2% across NSW, and in Bondi Beach the figure was 36.0%. Most homes were flats (79.6% and 85.7%), most were rented (56.8% and 65.9%), and more than one household in five had no car at all.
The jobs stand out too. Professionals and managers made up over 60% of employed residents in both suburbs, and the top industries were computer system design and advertising services. Advertising employed 3.0% of Bondi's workers and 3.5% of Bondi Beach's, against 0.5% across NSW. If you sell to other businesses, there is a local market of designers, developers and marketers on your doorstep, and they will judge your website hard.
After English, Spanish was the most common language at home in both suburbs, at about 4.5%, five times the NSW share. Russian (2.9% in Bondi) and French (2.9% in Bondi Beach) were also well above the state figures. A note on your profile about the languages your team speaks costs nothing.

880,000 overnight visitors, and what they do
Waverley Council's tourism page says Bondi attracted over 880,000 domestic overnight visitors in 2022, that 87% of them ate out locally and 52% visited the beach, and that 59% were aged 15 to 39. Solo travellers and adult couples were the largest groups. The beach itself has national heritage status.
Read that the other way round: nearly half of Bondi's overnight visitors skipped the beach, but almost nine in ten ate out, so the visitor search is mostly a food and drink search. Google suggests "bondi cafes with a view", "breakfast" and "open now". Keep a current menu, real photos of the view if you have one, and correct public holiday hours on your profile.

Markets every weekend, and a summer that runs Friday to Tuesday
Waverley Council lists four regular markets at Bondi Beach: the farmers markets on Saturday mornings, the Bondi Beach Markets on Sundays, and a community market on weekend afternoons from September to April that runs Fridays to Tuesdays in December, January and February. The council also names the Bondi Festival, the Festival of the Winds and Sculpture by the Sea among the area's yearly events.
If you trade near the beach, set your weekend and summer hours in Google to match, and post an update once a festival's dates are confirmed. Bondi Pavilion, renovated in 2022 with a gallery, theatre and music studios, draws its own searches for "events", "theatre" and "art gallery".

Parking is scarce, and plenty of locals walk
Waverley Council says demand for street parking in parts of the area exceeds supply on most days, and runs paid parking, permits and resident zones, including beach and tradesperson permits. Visitors know it: Google suggests "bondi beach parking rates", "permit", "app" and "parking today".
Say where the nearest paid parking is, or tell people to come by bus. A short line on your contact page answers a search they are about to make.
If you work in Bondi homes, mention how you handle parking and access in your quote pages. Waverley offers a tradesperson parking permit, so it is a real cost of the job.
With more than a fifth of households car-free, "walking distance from Bondi Road" or "two minutes from the Pavilion" is useful directions, not filler.
The coastal walk links Bondi with Tamarama and Bronte, and Google suggests "bondi to coogee walk" in the top ten. Walkers search for coffee, breakfast and somewhere to sit.

Seven suburbs inside two kilometres
Seven suburbs sit inside two kilometres between Australia Post locality points, from Tamarama at 0.8 to North Bondi and Bellevue Hill at 1.7. Bondi itself is about 6 kilometres east-south-east of the Sydney GPO in a straight line.
Because these suburbs are small and close, Google's map results can show you for searches in several of them, which is no reason to build a page for each name. Write one only when you have something specific to say about your work there.

Our routine, between the flags
Every Bondi campaign runs the same five sets, worked remotely from Melbourne.
- Set one
Read the conditions
Your profile and website next to the businesses above you, for locals' searches and visitors' searches separately.
- Set two
Plant the flags
The right suburb, category and hours, including weekend, summer and public holiday hours.
- Set three
Write the pages
A page per service, with directions that name the street, the beach or Bondi Road.
- Set four
Keep reviews coming
A simple way to ask every customer, local or visitor, and a reply to each in your own words.
- Set five
Check the tally
Calls, bookings and direction requests each month, compared with the same season last year when we can.
Results don't arrive on a schedule: Google's starter guide says one change might register in hours, another might take months. More on the map results in our local SEO guide, and on the listing itself in Google Business Profile management.
What it costs to get Bondi right

Questions from Bondi businesses
Trade drops off after summer. What should we do with search in the quiet months?
Use the quiet months on the customers who stay. Visitors search before they arrive and mostly for food, a view or what's open now; locals search for everyday services and want to know when it isn't crowded. Give each group its own page or section, change your Google hours the week your winter hours start, and spend the off-season asking regulars for reviews, because a recent review from a local reads differently to one from a weekend visitor. Then go into the next summer with the menu, photos and hours already right.
How much does SEO cost for a Bondi business?
Boltly publishes three monthly plans: Starter at $500 for one location, Growth at $900 for businesses with real work in nearby suburbs, and Performance at $1,500 for crowded categories such as dining, fitness and beauty. There is no setup fee and you can leave after any month.
Should my listing say Bondi or Bondi Beach?
Use the suburb in your street address, because that is what Google checks. Bondi and Bondi Beach are separate suburbs sharing the postcode 2026, so check which one your address shows. Mention the other in your description only if customers really come from there.
How do I compete with Bondi Sands and other brands in search?
You don't need to. People searching for a product brand aren't looking for a local cafe or physio. Add the service and the place, such as "physio Bondi Road" or "Bondi Beach breakfast", to your page titles and profile, and you are competing only with local businesses.
Google still shows our summer hours, and an AI answer repeated them. How do we fix it?
Fix the sources, because you can't email a correction to an AI answer. If the change is for the season, edit your regular hours on your Business Profile; special hours are meant for short changes, such as a public holiday or a closure of up to six days in a row. Then make the same hours appear in plain text on your website's contact page, and check any directory or booking page that still shows the old times. Google may also call or text your profile number to confirm hours; check what it collected under Edit profile, Collected info.
A review says there's nowhere to park. How should we reply?
Reply once, calmly, and give the fix the next customer needs: the nearest paid parking, the bus that stops closest, or how long the walk is from Bondi Road. Don't argue that parking isn't your fault, even if the council agrees. Then put the same line on your contact page and in your profile description, with a photo of your entrance, so people have the answer before they set out.
Can a business on Bondi Road reach beach visitors?
In ordinary search, a helpful page can rank for visitor questions anywhere. In the map, distance from the searcher counts, so a Bondi Road address will show best to people nearby. Clear directions and photos help a visitor decide a short walk is worth it.
Do you have an office in Bondi?
No. Boltly is a Melbourne-based business and works with Bondi clients remotely. Every fact on this page names its public source, mostly the ABS and Waverley Council.
Several questions come from Google's suggestions about beach parking, cafes, Bondi Road doctors and the coastal walk, checked on 4 October 2026; others are what owners ask about the off-season, out-of-date hours and parking reviews.
