Strathfield is a rail interchange, a town centre and a suburb where fewer than a third of residents speak only English at home. Google's suggestions show what people want here: restaurants near the station, Korean barbecue, parking at Strathfield Plaza.

An interchange suburb where most residents speak another language
Nepali, Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean are all common at home in Strathfield, residents are young (median age 32) and 43.9% of homes are rented. Renters, students and commuters tend to find businesses by searching.
For a Strathfield business, SEO means a complete Google Business Profile, a clear page for each service, directions that mention the station or the Plaza, steady reviews and, where customers need them, pages in their language.

The station brings commuters, and commuters search nearby
Strathfield is a stop on four Sydney Trains lines and two intercity lines, according to Transport for NSW, and Google's suggestions for the station are practical: parking, food, and the trips to Olympic Park, Central and Parramatta.
If you trade within walking distance, say which side of the station you're on, how many minutes it is on foot, and if you stay open for the trip home.

A town centre known for its Korean food, and much more
Strathfield Plaza sits at 11 The Boulevarde, a block south of the station, and Google's food and shopping suggestions cluster around it, led by Korean barbecue and the Korean mart.
Google also suggests "chinese", "nepali", "indian", "halal" and "italian" next to "strathfield restaurants". Name dishes the way people search for them, and show prices and clear hours.

Fewer than a third of residents speak only English at home
Only 29.4% spoke just English at home in 2021, and after Australia the most common birthplaces were Nepal (13.6%), China (8.6%), India (6.8%) and South Korea (6.2%).
If many customers are more comfortable in Nepali, Mandarin or Korean, a page in that language helps. Google reads a page's language from its visible content, so the translation must be on the page itself, each version on its own URL and checked by a fluent speaker.

Schools and a university campus bring families and students in
All four campuses have Strathfield addresses, and ACU runs a free shuttle from the station. In 2021, 33.1% of residents in education were at university, against 15.3% across NSW.
Parents and students want coffee before drop-off or an appointment after pick-up, so exact hours and "five minutes from the station" help.

Three councils meet in Strathfield
Strathfield station is about 14.5 kilometres by road west of the Sydney GPO, and the suburb's postcode is 2135. Roughly 86% of the suburb is in Strathfield Municipal Council, whose office is at 65 Homebush Road. A strip along the eastern edge (about 12%) is in Burwood Council, and a small north-eastern corner sits in the City of Canada Bay.
Check which council your street falls under before quoting a permit or rule. Sydney Olympic Park is a separate suburb in the City of Parramatta, so describe how far away it is rather than claiming it.
Google weighs distance in map results, so a Strathfield business can reach customers in Homebush, Burwood and Enfield too. See also SEO in Burwood, SEO in Parramatta and SEO in Bankstown.

Best-of lists, missed dinner calls and three phone numbers for one shop
Town-centre restaurants and shops hit these three once they check how they show up.
A best-of list ranks above your own restaurant
For a broad search like Korean barbecue in Strathfield, review sites and food lists can take the top organic spots, and an AI answer may name the places those lists mention. You can't outrank every list, but you can be the clearest result under them and in the map.
Choose the most specific primary category, keep the menu, prices and photos current, and give signature dishes their own page. If a list or food writer covers you, link to it. Never pay for placement disguised as a review.
The phone rings out at 7pm and the caller tries the next place
When the kitchen is full, nobody answers, and a hungry caller doesn't leave a message. Give people a way that doesn't need you: an online booking or order link on your profile and website, a missed-call text back, and your real hours, including when the kitchen closes.
Then check the calls and booking clicks your profile reports each month, and whether the evening ones turn into tables.
Three phone numbers for one shop
An old mobile on a directory, a landline on the centre's store list and a new number on the website confuse customers. Google's guidelines ask for a number that connects to your own location, ideally local, that doesn't redirect elsewhere.
Pick one main number, match it on the profile, website footer, delivery apps and every directory, and keep a list of where your details appear so the next change takes minutes.

What Strathfield owners ask about maps, languages and councils
How much does SEO cost for a Strathfield business?
Starter is $500 a month for one Strathfield location, Growth $900 when you also want Homebush and Burwood customers, and Performance $1,500 for a crowded category or several sites. No upfront charge; stop any month. A small cafe near the station usually needs less than a Korean restaurant south of the line.
How long does it take to rank on Google Maps?
Google's SEO starter guide says changes can show within hours or take several months. A fixed pin or corrected hours can register quickly; holding a top spot for a busy search takes much longer.
Should my website have pages in Korean, Chinese or Nepali?
If a real share of your customers search in that language, yes. Link the versions together and let visitors choose their language rather than redirecting them.
How do I get more Google reviews?
Ask every customer when they're happiest, with a short link or QR code at the counter, and reply to each review. Google bans paying for reviews or asking only happy customers, so keep the request open to everyone.
Can a business in Homebush or Burwood rank for Strathfield searches?
Sometimes, especially close to the boundary, because Google weighs distance from the searcher. Never list a fake address to get closer. Use a clear service area and pages about the Strathfield customers you serve instead.
Is a Google Business Profile free?
Yes, it costs nothing, and it is what Google uses to show you in map results. Fill in every section, including the languages your staff speak.
What should I look for in a local SEO agency?
Plain monthly reporting, access to your own accounts, no long lock-in and no ranking promises. Google itself says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, so treat any guarantee as a warning sign.
