SEO for Broadbeach businesses between the beach and the convention centre
Broadbeach is a narrow strip of towers about 3 kilometres south of Surfers Paradise, yet it holds Oasis, Victoria Avenue's restaurants, The Star casino and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. Google's suggestions show who's looking: diners after a view, families after a restaurant with a playground, and people who need an emergency dentist. Boltly helps Broadbeach businesses appear for those searches with a sharp Google profile, a page for every service and a steady run of reviews, run by one senior specialist on a plan you can cancel.
Updated
Apartment towers, convention crowds and phone searches
Almost every Broadbeach home is an apartment, half are rented, and cafes and restaurants employ more residents than any other single industry, with accommodation (4.2%) and casino work (2.1%) far above the Queensland rates of 1.2% and 0.1%. Add the visitors staying in the towers and attending the convention centre, and much of the suburb chooses where to go on a phone.
So the work leans on directions people can follow from Victoria Avenue, the Mall or a G:link station.

What's really in Broadbeach
Broadbeach Waters is a separate suburb that shares the 4218 postcode and the City of Gold Coast council, and several places with "Broadbeach" in their name or directions sit just outside the suburb. Customers and Google both need you to be precise.
Broadbeach sits about 3 kilometres south of Surfers Paradise, with Mermaid Beach to the south and the ocean to the east. The G:link stops at Broadbeach North and Broadbeach South, and trams now run from Helensvale to Burleigh Heads, so Burleigh is a tram ride away rather than a bus change. On Census day 2.7% of working residents took the tram to work, against 0.1% across Queensland. Google suggests trips from the Broadbeach stops to Surfers Paradise and Pacific Fair, and "gold coast airport to broadbeach station", so name your nearest station in your directions. See our pages on SEO in Surfers Paradise and SEO in Burleigh Heads.

Every event brings a crowd of new searchers
The convention centre's calendar brings thousands of out-of-towners into one block of Broadbeach at a time. Visitors with a lanyard and an hour to spare look for food and coffee within walking distance.
Diary the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre's dates the way a hotel would, and use the planner above for each run-up: a post saying how many minutes you are from the centre's doors, plus special hours for late nights.

2.9% of residents were born in Brazil, against 0.2% across Queensland.
Apartment living, with a Brazilian accent
Just over half of residents (54.1%) were born in Australia, followed by New Zealand, England, Brazil, China and South Africa. Portuguese is the most common language after English, a far bigger share than across Queensland.
Renters hold 49.5% of homes, outright owners 29.5% and owners with a mortgage 17.3%. If your team speaks Portuguese, Spanish or Japanese, say so on your profile and website for residents and visitors who'd rather be served in their own language.

Getting bookings and reviews from visitors
How much does SEO cost for a Broadbeach business?
Boltly's Starter plan is $500 a month for a single Broadbeach venue, Growth is $900 to cover Mermaid Beach or Surfers Paradise as well, and Performance is $1,500 for crowded categories, all month to month with no lock-in contract.
How long does SEO take on the Gold Coast?
Google's SEO starter guide says some changes register within hours, others take several months. Fixing an incomplete profile is usually the quickest step; new pages for a crowded category along Victoria Avenue take the longest.
How can a restaurant get more bookings from Google?
Add a booking link and your menu to your Google Business Profile, keep hours accurate, upload photos of real dishes and the view, and reply to reviews. Treat the profile like your shopfront window, because for a visitor staying in a tower nearby it is the first thing they see.
How do I list a business in an apartment or office tower on Google?
Use your street address with the suite or shop number on its own line, place the map pin on the building entrance you use, and describe how to find you inside, such as the lobby or level of a Gold Coast Highway tower, in your profile and on your website.
Do Google reviews in other languages help?
Yes. Reviews in any language show customers that people like your business, and Google Maps can translate them for readers. Replying in the reviewer's language, when you can, is a nice touch.
Should I translate my website for Portuguese-speaking customers?
Only if you can serve those customers in Portuguese. A properly translated page, marked up so Google knows which language it's in, is far better than an automatic translation.
We miss phone bookings during the dinner rush. What helps?
Make the phone the second way to book, not the only one. Put a booking link on your Business Profile and at the top of your website, say on both that online booking is the quickest, and change your voicemail to point callers to the same link. Keep your hours exact, including special hours for event nights, so people don't ring just to ask if you're open.
Can staff ask diners for a review at the table, or offer a free drink for one?
Asking is fine; the drink and the pressure aren't. Google's review policy bans incentives such as discounts or free goods in exchange for a review, bans asking only the happy customers, and says businesses shouldn't require or pressure people to review while they're still on the premises or set staff a quota of reviews. A better routine for a Broadbeach venue: a short message with your review link the day after the booking, sent to every guest the same way. Visitors who have flown home still have their phone.
