SEO consulting for Gold Coast founders and teams
Surfers check the conditions before they paddle out. A good SEO consultant does the same for your business: reads the competition, the demand and the state of your site, then tells you where to put your effort. Boltly's consulting is run by a senior specialist, written down so you can act on it, and never tied to a contract.

Six in ten Gold Coast businesses have no employees
Of the 83,266 businesses actively trading in the City of Gold Coast in June 2025, 52,343 had no employees. That is 62.9 per cent: sole traders, founders and owner-operators doing their own marketing between everything else.
The mix of businesses tells you where search is crowded. In June 2025 the city had 15,355 construction businesses, 12,135 in rental, hiring and real estate and 11,181 in professional, scientific and technical services, the three biggest groups. Health care and social assistance grew fastest of the large groups, from 5,385 businesses in June 2022 to 6,713. A builder or a property manager on the Gold Coast is up against thousands of others for the same searches, so the advice has to be sharper than "add more keywords".
Consulting suits those owners. Instead of an agency taking over, you get the handful of changes that matter and someone to check your work. A short written list is easier to fit between jobs than a long programme you have to manage.

Visitors plan by search. So do the people who live here.
Gold Coast visitors spent $8.9 billion in 2025 across 14.4 million visits. Many of them choose where to eat, stay and book before they arrive. Locals, meanwhile, search for trades, clinics and services all year. Many businesses serve both, and a consultant helps you decide which pages each audience needs.

Hospitals, universities and professional firms have search needs too
The Gold Coast economy is broader than tourism. Organisations with in-house marketing teams often need a consultant rather than an agency, to review the team's work and set the direction.

A report full of rankings tells you little about bookings
Owners who've paid for SEO before often describe the same report: green arrows, more visitors, and a phone that rings no more than it did. Positions for phrases nobody types, and traffic from people in other countries reading a blog post, look like progress in a chart. On the Gold Coast, where a cafe or a tour operator lives on bookings, we set the scorecard around enquiries from the first week, and keep rankings as a supporting line.
Signals that end in money
- Calls and direction requests from your Google Business Profile
- Contact and booking forms tracked as key events in GA4
- Organic visits to the pages that sell, not to the whole site
- A "how did you find us?" question on the booking form
Signals that only look good
- Rankings for phrases with no real search demand
- Total sessions, including visitors from overseas who will never book
- Third-party "authority" scores, which are tool vendors' metrics, not Google's
- Screenshots of a single position on one day
One limit: when visitors book through an outside platform, the booking often can't be traced back to the search that started it. In that case we track the click to the booking page and ask you to compare booking totals month by month. If a consultant can't explain how their report connects to your enquiries, ask them before the next invoice.
What SEO consulting costs on the Gold Coast
Ongoing consulting runs on Boltly's three published monthly plans. A one-off audit or written strategy is quoted as a fixed price before we start, based on the size of your site and how crowded your field is.
Nothing is locked in, and full details are on the pricing page.

|---|---|---|
| Starter | $500 / month | Boltly plan, one location |
| Growth | $900 / month | Boltly plan, across the city |

What Gold Coast owners ask a consultant first
How much does SEO consulting cost for a Gold Coast business?
Ongoing consulting on the Gold Coast runs on Boltly's published plans: Starter $500, Growth $900 or Performance $1,500 a month, with no setup fee and no lock-in. A one-off audit or strategy is priced as a fixed amount in writing before any work starts, so a sole trader in Nerang and a hotel group in Surfers Paradise each know the full cost up front.
How long before a consultant's advice shows up in rankings?
Google's SEO starter guide says some changes take effect in a few hours and others can take several months, and suggests waiting a few weeks before judging a change. The speed also depends on you: advice only counts once it is live, and searches for beachside accommodation are far more crowded than searches for a specialist trade in the hinterland.
What does an SEO consultant do that an agency doesn't?
A consultant works out what is wrong and tells you how to fix it, then checks the work. An agency does the fixing itself. If you or your team can make changes to your website, consulting can cost less and leaves you with skills you keep. When you compare the people a search for "SEO consultant Gold Coast" brings up, ask each one which of those two jobs they are offering.
Can you work alongside our in-house team or web developer?
Yes. We write recommendations your developer can follow, review changes before they go live and help your marketing staff write pages that rank.
We're near the NSW border. Does daylight saving cause problems online?
It can. Queensland doesn't use daylight saving, while New South Wales does from 4 October 2026 to 4 April 2027, so for those months Coolangatta and Tweed Heads are an hour apart. Customers who live or stay across the border can read your opening hours or booking slots an hour out. Say "Queensland time" on your booking and contact pages and in confirmation emails, check that your booking software uses the Brisbane time zone, and add a line to your Google Business Profile description if many of your customers come from the Tweed side.
Should a visitor business use Google Ads or SEO?
Often both, for different jobs. Ads put you in front of searches the day you switch them on, which suits school holidays, events and a new venue, but the visits stop when the spend stops. SEO builds pages and a profile that keep bringing visitors after the work is done, and it takes longer to show. Many owners use ads to learn which searches turn into bookings, then build pages for them and cut the ad spend. Paying for ads doesn't change your organic rankings either way.
Can you guarantee first-page rankings?
No. Google's own guidance on hiring an SEO warns that no one can guarantee first place, and anyone who promises it should be treated with care. What we can promise is clear priorities and regular measurement of what has changed.
How do you measure whether the advice worked?
We record a starting point before any changes: rankings for the searches that matter, visits to key pages, enquiries and profile actions such as calls and direction requests. Each review compares against that baseline.
Do local SEO and a Google Business Profile matter on the Gold Coast?
If you serve people in person, yes. Google's Business Profile help says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and popularity, and that complete, accurate details help a profile show for relevant searches. Distance matters on a city that stretches from Coomera to Coolangatta: name the areas you really serve rather than the whole Gold Coast.
These questions reflect Google's search suggestions and the FAQs on pages that rank for SEO consulting on the Gold Coast, as of 14 September 2026, with facts rechecked on 4 October 2026.
